I’m Kate Stormfield, a Family Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in reproductive and sexual health, gender-affirming care, and hormone therapy. I was raised in the Pacific Northwest and completed my undergraduate studies at UC San Diego and my Master’s in Nursing at UC San Francisco. My training included formative experiences at San Francisco’s Lyon-Martin Community Health Services (established in 1979 as the first clinic specializing in queer women’s health) and Mission Neighborhood Health Center (focused on Latino and immigrant community health). There, I developed a strong foundation in health equity and community-centered care. I went on to spend more than ten years with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England in Vermont, where I helped expand telehealth services and saw firsthand how meaningful access to this type of care can be—especially for patients facing financial, logistical, or past healthcare barriers.

In 2023, I deepened my focus on midlife care by becoming a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, building on years of experience prescribing and managing hormone therapy. In 2025 I returned with my family to the PNW. I took the transition as an opportunity to found Monarch West, a telehealth micropractice dedicated to midlife hormone therapy and sexual health. My approach is evidence-based and patient-centered, with an emphasis on thoughtful conversations and care that reflects each person’s goals and lived experience.

Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors with my family and exploring the Pacific Northwest. I’ve also had incredible opportunities to live, work, and volunteer abroad in Central and South America, Europe, and Asia—experiences that continue to shape how I connect with and care for people from diverse backgrounds. These days, you’ll often find me listening to podcasts during everyday errands, taking weekend morning jogs across the St. Johns bridge, or practicing strength training, pottery, and pickleball with friends.
